With a career in nursing, Aya now supports her family.

Aya dreamed of a career helping others, and studied to become a nurse. But following her education she was not able to find a job in her field. She volunteered and worked as a translator, while continuing to pursue nursing jobs.

Then Aya learned about the resources available at the Rizk Gaziantep Foundation for Professional Development, which works to find jobs or income independence for displaced Syrians. Your gifts to Syrian Forum help the ongoing efforts of the Rizk program.

Recognizing Aya was the only provider for her family, the Foundation understood the urgency of her job search and worked on her behalf with several medical centers and hospitals to secure a job. Aya is now a nurse at one of the best private hospitals in Gaziantep and is able to care for her family.

Farah can now give her mother instrumental medical care.

Suffering from advanced diabetes, Farah’s mother needed continual medical interventions that required hiring a car to transport her to a hospital in the city for treatment. But at just 14 years old, Farah took advantage of Syrian Forum’s Ihsan training and learned how to care for her mother’s condition.

Ihsan for Relief and Development provides direct assistance to the most needy Syrians and is a humanitarian service funded by your donations.

Farah was trained to measure blood pressure and monitor blood sugar, and also how to sterilize and dress wounds. She and her mother can manage the diabetes treatments at home on a daily basis and no longer make regular trips to the hospital. Plus, Farah is proud she can provide such crucial care for her mother.
